So then what to write in the first blog, the obvious choice is my impending return to university. This i’m not so excited about, i’ve already done it once and didn’t quite imagine my lifeplan including a second stint. But since my first degree (Applied Social Science in Crime if anyone cares) was by all accounts useless once i’d finished (talk about hindsight huh, £10,000 student loan later…) i have decided to get my ass into gear and sort out a career.

So, back i go to university to do the kind of degree i should have done the first time around, please if anyone reads this who will be choosing a degree anytime soon, bear in mind that a ‘general’ degree which may seem oh so tempting at the tender age of 18 won’t look so wonderful 3 years down the line when you realise you have no direction in life whatsoever…. I therefore am going back to do nursing, mental health nursing to be precise.

I was quite excited to be honest about the thought of maybe being slightly motivated this time around with my extra 5 years life experience, this to be fair, is quite unlikely as i’m a lazy creature at heart and as my dad likes to remind me, usually only do the bare minimum. But i’m going to try, and that’s what counts…right?

Anyway, i will endeavour to keep you updated, especially with the antics of fresher’s week (I’m just so wonderfully excited about this again at the ancient age of 23, nearly 24…) And my potential holiday, which i may or may not go on depending on whether i can find one cheap enough. Why in the middle of a global recession are the travel agents intent on making me stay in the UK, I WANT SOME SUN!!
